Memorial Day Weekend

Jim, Tisha, and the kids spent Sunday and Monday with us at the lake for the Memorial Day weekend. It is always good to remember our troops, and even more so on this day. We need to be thankful for those who have given the ultimate, and the ones who served, and my still be serving.

Our family played in the water, ate a good meal, and even did some work. Jim and Tisha helped me move some very heavy things around in the storage room so that the electrician could later add some receptacles and such. Eddie is still not suppose to lift anything heavy, so their help was greatly needed. Thanks guys!

Eddie at the lake

This is Eddie overdoing it after his surgery. Sit down boy!

The weather is beautiful. Look at the sky!

"And there were lights"

We finally have lights all over our lake house again. Thanks to Rusty Morgan and his son and helper Perry. They have been working hard this past week, and everything is looking so much better.

Take me for a ride in the canoe

Here are some pictures of Ginger and Christopher riding in the Moore's canoe just before leaving us in early May. Thanks Gary and Sandy for the uses of it.

A Quiet House

Wednesday May 14, we took Christopher and Ginger (with future grandson) to the airport to fly away to Brazil, not to return for four years. I must pause here.

We had a great month with them. We worked and played at the lake. We spent time with the whole family. We laughed and talked a lot. We went to church together. We shopped for baby things. Also this month Eddie had a hernia operation and the whole family pitched in to help him. Chris drove us to the hospital and back, stayed with me while Eddie underwent the surgery, and helped him move about for a few days. Jim surprised us by bringing by his favorite lounge chair for Eddie to use during his recovery, and offering to cut the grass. We have a wonderful family. God has blessed us greatly!

New Shingles-Yea!

Finally we have new shingles on our lake house. I thought the day would never come. The roofers have been here since 7:30 this morning, stopping only for lunch, which they ate out here next to the lake. It can get hot up there on the roof, so after looking at the water all day one of the guys decided to jump in, then the others joined him. They cooled off for only a few minutes then went back to work. I don't think they know it's mid April.
